I’m Not Here For You treads the delicate line between identity and symbolism. Showcasing the works of eleven artists the exhibition tiptoes between the playful and the melancholic, balancing the duality of collective and individual positionality. Like the flash of a gold tooth in a grin or the faded layers on a canvas that has been worked on over and over, there are equal measures of romance, danger, and deception in a reveal. It is up to the creator to decide what information is presented, and what information is kept hidden in disguise. Its loose ends are encouraged to be curiously pulled at without the assurance of actually knowing. The exhibition exists to not serve the viewer, ultimately playing upon the age old saying: ‘For me to know and for you to find out.’
